About
Following a series of client driven design planning workshops, the scoping and briefing crystallised further with specific zoning attributes to the master planning.
The Westin Resort is nestled into the northwestern part of Denarau. This junction is very pronounced on the arrival to the site as to have an impact on “first impressions”. The Central Facility building is the core part of the entire resort located at the centre of the resort. It aims to create a rejuvenating atmosphere upon arrival, allowing guests to connect with the calm indoor and outdoor spaces. Towards the beachfront area, the unique Inu-Oki-Lima Boathouse Restaurant will be situated near the pool with its own kitchen, back of the house and public amenities. The design idea for the Boathouse was taken from the form of a banana leaf and there was research into the structural forms of the traditional Fijian boathouses. At the end of the boathouse towards the pool area, there will be a pool bar that will serve guests at the pool and the pool lounge. There are eight room blocks on site with the total number of room keys at 252. The refurbishment of the room blocks, it will elevate the resort to a higher standard and maintain Westin’s reputable brand. The BOH areas to the two precincts are well conceived with the access, and spatial considerations ready to receive the services infrastructure.
